Antler Brew: Stout Stuff

February 11, 2011, 5:51 pm by

As some of you may have heard we’ve been brewing and bottling our very own beer here at Antler. We’re currently up to our fourth brew which is sitting in our office right now, just a few weeks away from getting bottled.

Over the years, we’ve worked with a number of beer and adult beverage clients, including Magners Irish Cider, Miller Brewing Company and a confidential client that will be hitting shelves shortly. But beer is more than just a part of our work, it’s a passion. We love the industry. We love beer. And we love having our own beer that we can give to our clients, friends and people who wander into our humble headquarters in Boston.

Our newest beer is a hearty chocolate stout which includes roasted barley, chocolate malt, cocoa malt, British 2-row malt and flaked oats. Scrumptious!

To go with the grains, we used a couple ounces of Fuggles hops and added crushed cocoa beans (pictured) to the end of the boil. For more stout goodness, we will be adding more cocoa beans and a whole vanilla bean to the fermentor about a week before bottling.

At this point, you may be wondering two things. One, how do you decide what kind of beers to brew. And, two, how do I get my hands on one of these tasty beverages? The decision process is a collaboration between our head brewer, Adam, and the Antler of the Month. Every employee gets a turn in this elite position, and last month’s head Antler, Beth, picked the Chocolate Stout. As for how to try an Antler Brew, well, you’ll just have to contact us, swing by our office or join us for an Antler event and perhaps you’ll find out.

Have you tried one of our brews? Don’t be shy, tell us how much you loved it!
